Fearless. Truthful. Unexpected.

Ben Whattam

Founding Partner, COO

In collaboration with Keko Group’s CEO, Brigitte Kemper, Ben sets the strategic direction for the agency across all offices and clients. Working with the teams in London, Germany, Dubai, Washington DC and Singapore, he oversees every aspect of the business across brand, product & service, and personnel strategies. Ben is a great believer that consumer-led insight is the key to unlocking standout work for clients. As a result, every piece of work produced by Keko is informed by these insights, applied with a real-world sensitivity.

Ben’s career started at international consulting firm Foolproof working with clients in NYC, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Paris – which also gave him a global perspective on HNWIs. A move to JWT, the home of planning, saw him build global advertising strategies for Nokia, HSBC and Shell. His subsequent role at Imagination gave him valuable experience in the world of branding and design, before he set up Keko London – first as Managing Partner and now as COO.

When he’s not thinking about work, Ben is thinking (very occasionally) about keeping fit.

Nicole DeMarco

Senior Copywriter

Coming to Keko Washington from a full-service marketing agency with a roster of clients across diverse industries, Nicole knows the ins and outs of traditional and digital advertising. She also holds a master’s in sociolinguistics from Georgetown University, where she wrote her thesis about how a running joke in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is discursively achieved.

As a copywriter, Nicole channels the tone of voice unique to every client to ensure brand integrity across all communication touchpoints. While storytelling for brands, she’s also happy to answer questions like, “What’s the word for when…?”

If not wordsmithing, Nicole is likely watching the Philadelphia Eagles choke, noodling on a standup bit, traveling (and agonizing over how generic that sounds), or coercing herself to exercise.
